AIR DUCT
CLEANING AND VIDEO INSPECTION
The Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) defines air duct cleaning as cleaning of heating and cooling
system components including registers, supply and return lines,
grilles, diffusers, heat exchangers, coils, drip pans, fan motor and
housing, and the air handling unit. Duct cleaning can promote
efficiency in your heating and cooling system.
To Have or Not to
Have (your ducts cleaned)…
-
Do you suffer from allergies,
asthma, or have symptoms of other illnesses exacerbated by being
indoors?
-
Do you have pets?
-
Are there smokers in the home or
building?
-
Have you moved into a new
occupancy?
-
Have you moved into a newly built
home?
-
Is there visible growth (i.e.
mold) inside your duct surfaces?
If you answered yes to any of the
above questions, you may experience several benefits from having your
ducts cleaned. New homes as well as older homes can collect
debris in their HVAC system. A new build may have drywall dust,
wood chips, and other contaminants unexpectedly in the system.
Since we spend 90% of our time
indoors, and indoor air quality is 2-5 times worse indoors than
outdoors, duct cleaning may improve the air quality, and in turn, your
health. Ducts do get dirty over time, and should occasionally be
cleaned. HVAC systems act as collection “houses” for particles and
debris that may have a negative impact on health, such as dust mites,
mold spores, bacteria, dust, and fungi.
Would you like a view of your
ducts? Our Video Inspection System can show you, and can
also show you end results of cleaning, confirming the job was done
thoroughly.
HAVE YOU RECEIVED A
THOROUGH
CLEANING?
During our air duct cleaning
process, vent covers are removed and cleaned. Each duct is
cleaned from the grill back to the main unit (from the farthest vent
and working toward the main unit). We offer an optional cleaning
for the system blower, fan coils, and drain pan.
MEASURES FOR
PREVENTING DUCT CONTAMINATION
-
Use the highest efficiency air
filters recommended. Change them regularly, and change them if
they become clogged.
-
During construction, seal off
supply and return registers. Do not operate HVAC system until
construction debris is cleaned up.
-
Dust and vacuum frequently.
-
Control moisture to prevent ducts
from becoming wet (can lead to mold growth)

We also offer cleaning for your clothes dryer vents!!!
